After I buy a Corvette and a house, I'm going to build an Exocet
Not only that, but eventually I'll drop and LS in it.
Obviously this is years from happening, but it's good to have goals. It'll probably be 5+ years before I have the house and the funds, but that's the plan.

Ariel Atom: $50,000+ (EDIT: base price is $65k!!! I could get a C7 Z06 for that in a few years)
Exocet: ~$7500 + An NA Miata chassis and powertrain ($2000 tops)
While I agree I'd want an Atom, for $10,000 and a couple weekends and evenings the Exocet is a darn good compromise

Please don't, that looks hideous and that rollbar has zero function besides an illusion of safety.
Get a Caterham instead, you'll be much happier.

They've actually changed it to have an SCCA compliant roll-bar, and one can be had with a full cage
I don't think it looks hideous, but it's not pretty. I'll have a Corvette, I don't need another attractive car.
That being said, no to the Caterham. Don't get me wrong, I'd love one, but it'd cost 2-3 times as much.

It's a kit built on a miata roller. There's no reason for it to be expensive.
